Went to Orion website and saw their 3 new Orion Dobsonian... WOW!! 36", 40" and 50"... really is Monster... Monster size and price! [smilie=woa.gif]

Hmm... for the 50", it's 4.36m long, and weighs almost half a ton (408kg). It's definitely a grab-and-go - the telescope grabs you and you go (probably hanging in mid-air).

I wonder if owning one of these will increase your life insurance premium?

Too expensive and too exclusive....who will set aside $55+ k USD to get a scope so huge? :S
I miss the place where stars shine bright, to gaze upwards in awe of the sight

55k seems really expensive for 36". The Webster 32" f/3.6 is only 27k.
