Canon drops price!

Yesterday, Canon set the local forums alight with speculation when it was noticed that their EOS 5DMkII full-frame DSLR now goes for <S$3,200. This is a >$500 price drop.

Do note that the 5DMII is a full-frame camera.

Some may prefer the APS-C cameras as they offer a 1.6x magnification. (better than FF, IMO, for planetary/moon/DSO shots)

I'm now gonna wait to see if the 7D drops to 2k

Looks like Pentax and Olympus is seriously cutting into their bottom line besides Nikon. Pentax also just launched their MF camera today.

Yeah, Pentax and their 40MP camera. Just read about it earlier today.

Either Canon is about to launch a new model (unlikely) or the drop is in anticipation of Nikon or Sony about to slash price or launch their new model.

Either way, consumers win! Unless you're the consumer who bought the 5DM2 just before this drop... then LL
