Dear all,
I just browsed the web to look for a good star diagonal to purchase. What should I be looking for? anyone can recommend a reasonably priced one?
Whats the difference between a william optics diagonal and a televue one besides the brand, which warrants televue to charge twice the price compared to william optics? (both claim to have 99% reflectivity, dielectric coating, 1/10 wave),
Thanks in advance.

i think most people won't be able to tell the difference :-)
i mean quantitatively i believe TV has the better product, but it's not 100% better to warrant 100% higher price -- diminishing returns and all that.
TV is Made in USA, william optics is Made in Taiwan. so the labor costs alone will account for a difference, plus the TV brand.
in other areas (e.g. eyepieces) TV makes unquestionably better eyepieces than W-O or anybody else except Zeiss, Leica, and Pentax. but a diagonal is hard to screw up: it's an aluminized optical flat. So I'd say go with the W-O.
