Hey this is not my post. It was a reply to another thread.

The animation is from soho sat orbiting around the sun. A come double the size of jupiter past the sun.

It suddenly rings a bell but my memory is failing me. Is this the one where we had 2 naked eye comets at the same time? I remember seeing them at mersing. [smilie=confused.gif]

Not the same one, the ones you mentioned were 2002 T7 LINEAR, 2001 Q4 NEAT and 2004 F4 Bradfield in April 2004. Back in China, I never managed to see the three comets at the same time, since twilight started pretty early for my latitude in China, but still had a good time hunting them~.

Besides, there hasn't been a big comet for a long time since 7P Holmes' outburst...

Yup...I don't think we will be seeing another Holmes anytime soon since that comet is not coming backin the near future unless a "Watson" appears. [smilie=cool.gif]

But of course, we can always hope for the best. Have not seen any comet since Holmes actually. Quite angry I missed McNaught. It was completely cloudy in Singapore horizon for several weeks, so even though it was bright for so long, I never had the chance to see it. sigh...

Agree, McNaught will be my life-long regret...It was so damn cloudy here. I even went to Labrador Park on Jan. 14, several other sites on other days, all ended up clouded out...Actually the comet could've been seen during daytime if not for the persistent 100% cloud coverage...

When the next big one comes, I will definitely go overseas to observe...
