Hi,All Jupiter fans
Was able to image Jupiter for the past 3 mornings--the missing belt do shows up faintly. Is the band coming back?Interesting to watch.
I took a look at 5am this morning but I could only see the top band. This was the first time I've ever seen Jupiter though so I didn't really care, it was very cool! I could clearly see 4 moons. I couldn't see the red spot but I don't think it was facing us at the time.
Another link for fellow newbies (there's a lot of great stuff on this site actually):

Lol! Oh well, that's the price I paid for satisfying my craving for that first cup of coffee. Next time I'll use the transit calculator (or maybe make the coffee before I sit down at the scope)!
Hi,Gary
PPic-1 not taken today right?Howcome Jupiter has 2 bands?I did photo and saw Jupiter shodowing its satellite and also, early 5am one of its satellite did cast a round shadow on the surface of Jupiter.
Images from screen capture of Stellarium 0.10.4. Just posting here so that other members can check whether it is accurate from what they have seen or will be seeing from their scopes and other planetarium software.
