Bosma Beta RE 3.15" f/6.3

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Was searching online for reviews of this scope but no joy. Anyone have any experience with this scope?

Hi Gary, you can ask Joo Beng from astrobargains. He is selling Bosma telescopes.

He says it is made in China and Bosma is a China brand. Joo Beng selling it as a set with a tripod for 400+ only. Looked through it once and it rather remarkable for the price. The tube is rather solid, thus good option for a guidescope. However, fringing can be seen and I don't recommend it for astrophotography. The 45 degrees diagonal mean that you will have to do some stretching when looking at stuff on the zenith. Again, not a bad scope, but it depends on what you want to look at.

Hi Chris. Thanks for the info. Can Saturn rings be seen in this scope?

Hi Gary
Saturn's Rings can be seen on almost all scopes. Even Galileo can see it although his one was so bad, he could not identify them as rings. That privelege went to Christian Huygens.
The gift shop in Science Centre also used to keep some Bosmo Maks but I think they stopped doing it. I suggest you arrange and pop by Joo Beng's place to have a look at the scope. You can touch it before buying it! Going to his house a little like going to Astroscientific! [smilie=cool.gif]

BTW. it looks like a Borg clone. I think I like Borg better...Resistence is Futile!

Agreed! Extremely nice! If I'm not wrong he has a Bosma set up in his living room which he uses sometimes.
But you can go crazy in his showroom/bedroom/study/office..haha! While your there ask questions and it's the best time to get familiar with accessories and the like! He may also have some back issues of astronomy mags that he sometimes lets go off!
Very accomodating and a great friend to make!
My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!
