Thanks to you Gary for organizing this! Though the skies were cloudy we still had some good time chatting and getting to know more about each other.
Was a pleasure meeting everyone!
We did manage to see Jewel Box, omega centauri and Saturn (albeit for a brief moment), and as usual when we left, the southern skies are now clear of clouds *arrrgh*
But we did discover a NEW NEBULA!! The Great CLOUD Nebula!! what was it?...M0??
@bharat : if you do read this, I hope tonight helped you in choosing your scope. If you have any questions, feel free to ask for more clarification! Love the enthusiasm of the family!!
@Gary : As Remus mentioned....go buy one!!! haha!
So goodnight/good morning to all and thanks for a fun night overall! Good banter, raised some public eyebrows, geek chat, formula of a good night!
Cheers!!

Gary, Tim, Majestic and Stuart, it was nice interacting with you guys. Tim, thanks for bringing your refractor. After having viewed through a variety of scopes at the 2 obs sessions that I attended and interraction on the forum, I have more or less concluded, as many already have, that a 6" newt will give the best value for money. Hopefully, I will be there with my own scope at one of the obs in the near future. See you.

Happy birthday Bharat! It was nice to meet you and your family last night.
Yes..."Majestic" sounds a little strange in the context of this board - there's not so much need to be anonymous. So I've created a new account ("Pete") which I'll use for my posts going forward.bharat wrote:Gary, Tim, Majestic and Stuart

@Majestic : Great meeting you Pete! Hope we can touch base more on future Obs!
@Croy : Wow! You were productive!..lol! Gotta love the 2 women! They knew alot about the Crux especially the Jewel Box and the Coal Sack. The Taxi Driver was the icing on the cake! Hmmm...guess the 1st taxi was worried when faced with guys armed with weird equipment! haha!
At least all you had was ' loose screws'...juicy mount though!
@bharat : Look forward to meeting you soon,..hopefully with an addition! Best of Luck and Have fun!!
