Bintan southern night sky

Scopius region, Centaurus ( try to spot Omega Centauri - fuzzy ball, size of moon ) and Southern Cross

I've been wanting to go to Bintan for some time... for this reason, less light pollution.

But this Banyan Tree resort is on the pricey end of the scale (500+ SGD / night) when all I'm after is a dark sky, not so much the luxo resort features.

Anyone with experience with the (ehrm) lower end of the scale in Bintan?

I stayed at Bintan Lagoon Resort last year and the view there was real good especially from the golf course. Yes, i sneaked into the golf course at night and it was real dark.
