CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
Came across information on this book "A Beginner's Guide to DSLR Astrophotography " by Jerry Lodriguss while browsing the site "www.astropix.com".
I am trying to find out if this is a good book for astrophotography beginners. Would like to have reviews/opinions if anyone has read this book.
Its available for US$ 44 (shipping included) by online order. Only problem is that its on CD ROM, no paper copy available. A few sample sections of the book can viewed on the website.
i bought it and regretted it... don't think it's worth the money at all. you would expect a lot for USD44.... but you'll be disappointed. you will get much better results if you spend USD44 buying makan for the numerous astrophotography guru in singastro.... serious
Actually, the most effective astrophotog advice I had was with the ASTRONOMY NOW magazine and when I was interacting with astrophotographers. Youtube have some pretty good instructionals regarding this skill too.

Another on-line magazine I find very useful is Astrophoto Insight. Check it out at http://www.astrophotoinsight.com. Very good resource aimed at purely the astro imagers.
