Internal dimensions of dry cabinets

Hi guys,

Wondering if any of you have Digicab dry cabinets, what's the internal dimensions of the 120L models?

AD-100 W45xD38xH74
AD-120 W41×D39×H99cm

I read a post stating the door is 407mm width for the 100L (450mm external).

A C11 OTA would clear the 120L's height, but not sure about 39cm external depth. OTA is 313mm outer diameter.

The door dimensions of the AD-100L, measured at the narrowest portions are approximately 15.5" wide and 23.5" tall.

Just minus 5cm on each side, even the metal wall is very thin, some metal structure in it resulting it to be smaller. 313mm outer diameter NO problem.

C11 OTA is 12.32 inch/313mm width and 24" tall/length. Still must remember the dovetail but I guess no issue if you angle at any of the front 2 corners of the dry cab.
Fuzzy said that the internal dimensions are 13"x17"x25 for the 100L

120L shd be no issue then....
I actually have a 36L for my camera and lenses, but I guess the 120L can help store the eyepieces/diagonal etc.

Just remember that alot of drawers become obsolete...haha! I have a 120L which I could only use 2 drawers so my C8 and 80ED fit lens down. The 80ED is the tallest an it's without any extensions just the tube and focuser. I also have a smaller one where my DSLR's and scope bits go in. Smaller 'no need humidity check' items can go into a tupperware box and placed outside like finders, tubes, rings. I just place optical stuff in the dry cab.

I used the AD100 for my ex-Nexstar 8. It barely squeezes in and you need to tilt it slightly. The AD120 is a little narrower, so make sure it can fit through the opening and not the internal capacity or at least can go in if tilted. Also, if memory serves, the AD120 has a permanent bar in the middle? Maybe you want to confirm this. The AD100 does not have it and if its just the OTA, may just fit the C11.

I use the DHC120L (just the digi meter version of the AD) which I got from RedDot Photo. Theres no bar so no worries. The 200L version does. Only niggle is the humidifier at the back of the cab, which is fixed at the top area, causes any drawer placed one step above center to not be able to slide all the way back, leaving a little of the drawer sticking out of line with the rest. BUT, the door can still close with no probs and it doesn't touch the rubber seals on the door frame. I just like everything in line..hehe!
Yes it's narrower, so a C11 is probably the only scope that will go in! My C8 and 80ED is placed standing diagonally with each other,...no other scopes can go in (sob sob**) not even a Orion Short tube! But the only 2 drawers hold my EP's (laid down, 2" diagonals, finder scope, 2 DSLR's, my DSI, barlow and lots more space for bits and pieces!
Hope that gives a better idea of what to expect! Since you have a smaller 36L you can place all other stuff in there...and a good time for spring cleaning..HAHA! Which is what I did realizing I have so much more photography accessories than scope stuff! Time to balance it out!

If someone is online you can chat with them to confirm dimensions! They are nice and my transactions went with no probs. Delivery was good and they even set it up for me clearing all plastic and rubbish! Overall safe and sound!

Opening behind door into the cabi for 100L is 40.5cm x 59cm and from the controller to the opening (inner side) is about 30cm. If height is not a problem, it can sit all the way out just behind the glass, giving a usable depth of about 35cm.

I suggest you buy the 160L, you can use the extra space for drawers and keep the rest of your astro stuffs. 160L is the biggest standard design with a single door, anything bigger will be with 2 doors (up and down) so the height become limited.

I went to check out the 50L version at Challenger Vivo. Yes, the "TE" box sticks out like 2 inches from the back of the metal-plated wall.

So if i get the 120L shd be ok, coz OTA top will be below the 2" thick "TE" dehumidifier box. I could get the 160L coz I have 3 cameras with lens mounted with all the eyepieces/optical stuff....but my 36L then need to give away liao.

Clifford is raised another point which I confirmed just now at Challenger, 30cm from controller to opening for his 100L (38cm ext depth).
So even with the 120L 39cm ext depth it might not clear OTA's 313mm if the controller is situated below 24" from the internal floor of inside the cab.

But then again the 100L is 15.5" wide internally the door part, that's 393mm. So shdn't be an issue even if it buldges a bit out as there is buffer before it reaches the glass.
The digital hygro/thermo portion can be unscrewed, seen it already..... but I think 120L shdn't be an issue.
The metal lock is by the side, so don't think at the side it'd intrude the cylindrical OTA as its a cylinder.

Ah...decisions.

I'll probably put it on its side so that i can store the OTA horizontally. If door cannot open then put 20mm blocks below it, shd be ok.
