Hope my practical approach of it helped. But it shouldn't decide the fun you wish to have with your set up. It is easier with Alt Az, just carry and click in!
One easy way with an EQ is set it up early at home...or as I mentioned before, a roller luggage bag. Once I got that,..I can roll my EQ up the MSCP ramps to the top level. Also up and down kerbs are easy and with the trolley like way of rolling you hardly feel any weight...except when I have to climb up one flight of stairs! I definately don't huff and puff once I get to the top!!
If your balcony offers great views...that have fun!! My balcony faces East to South,..but low floor so with the window size...I have certain times in a year to view the good stuff...once they appear near zenith at night fall,..I have nothing else to see! So some months balcony...and when the night comes and they appear above..I head to the MSCP. Thats one way to spread the Obbing time out!
