I doubt it'll help much since light from galaxy is like any stars... hmm... I guess you might end up with a galaxy of the same colour as the stars in your above image.

Very nice! Got fine details within the nebula, you can do wonder with narrowband filters, even under the strong Moonlight. :D

Excellent photo , I prefer the second photo with more details- the first one looks a bit overexposed.By the way which constellation is the dumbbell nebula in ? [smilie=confused.gif]

I will post the two HA and OIII raw images and maybe you can let me know if coma is the problem with my star images. My notebook containing the images is now in the garden capturing the Trifid and can therefore post it later.

The Dumbbell Nebula is in the Vulpecula constellation or the Fox.
