I dont think its possible in Asia ;esp with these talk of terrorism etc.Not that we are inferior in our creativeness but---Firstly how to get air clearences;with so many planes flying around;(dangerous if airplane suck such items into their engine)not to say that it may fly into our neighbour air space and we can be charged for infringing air spaces and endangering passenger aircraft safty.US is/was a very open country and there we can have a hobby call model rocketry--put those things in your house--you become a terrorist!!and can be charged for possession of 'firearms'!!Death penalty.Possible?perhaps 200 years later with more openmindness.To be frank;if they know that the viewfinder of a telescope works just like the riflescope,I am not surprise that its banned and possession of such items will be punishable by----rotan----etc.Already the image intensifier useful in astronomy had been banned.My 2 cents.

Well, most go up to 90km just short of what is officially known as "space" at 100km. For it to come down, and taking into account strong winds shear, you will need to be prepared for the item to comeback within a 50km radius from the launch point. That is why such ventures are done in suburban areas or desert areas. From Singapore, your camera system may end up in some forest in Malaysia and Indonesia and its signal may be attenuated by terrain and trees. Or worse, in a town somewhere where the camera can be "harvested" by passerbys as a gift from heaven or flattened by vehicles.

Only vehicle that really punched through the academic 100km karman line , is the X-15 (107.9km or 354,200ft). But it is not officially recognised as an airplane.

But anyway, even at 43,000 ft flight level 430 on a commercial flight, the night sky up there is already damn dark plus stable. Even a pair of 7x50 binos can reveal a lot of stuff that even a trip to a dark site cannot reveal. Some astronomers cum pilots say one.

whoa..you're right. I stand corrected. I read "feet" as "metres". Thank goodness I was not landing a Mars Probe like NASA when I made the boo boo !
