CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
Managed to squeeze in a little AP over the past week on Thursday night! Wanted to image the Pleiades, but by the time I framed it on screen, patchy clouds rolled in over the North East, shutting it and even Orion outta view! Only cloud free area was facing South with one DSO available which was 47 Tuc (NGC104).
This cluster is hard to image from where I am as it's low (above some condo roofs) with light polluted bits. But gave it a try anyway to see what can be achieved.
Not a great shot, but hope you enjoy it!

Glad to have brought back some ol'e thoughts!
Last time I was in Mersing I was headed to Pulau Aur for my diving trip! Would have been great to capture 47 Tuc there without the sky glow and atmospheric obstructions!
Yes it's a relatively bright globular cluster. On the 80ED it's a small fuzzy ball you can't miss! On an 8"...very nice!
Thanks!

Thanks weixing! Agree, ECP would be best...just gotta wait for the good nights when all this haze, monsoon, typhoons, wind, go away!
The original image is much larger with 47Tuc way way small...when I have the time to process those I'll post the original image up as a wide field shot.

Yeah it's a bug! Either lug the 8" or AP with refractors!..haha! Chose the latter of course. But since stumbling out with it, it's a great way to document the SG skies. 47Tuc was a trial...wasn't easy with the condo rooftops and being low from my balcony at the 2nd floor...but was more a learning curve to see what is and not possible at my floor level, LP and everything else. Besides,..was more a pier test..loL!
Kinda like imaging clusters more than nebulae though. Just something about these millions suns all over the place!
