Not enough backfocus (or whatever you call that)?

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

If you are just a few mm short of focus, you can try not pushing the metal cylinder all the way in and lock it midway where you can achieve focus. [smilie=cute.gif]

Richard, OT.. have you tried the "disable_dfs.zip" hack on your K-x to see if it disables dark frame subtraction?

Hi andeelym,

One way is to have the following connection sequence (in the case of w/o an optional crayford focuser):
6.3FR -> 2" to SCT ext tube -> your DSLR

Note that the distance from the 6.3FR to the DSLR chip should be 110mm. What this means is that if you are going to use your DSLR which is nominally 55mm deep (off memory, better to confirm this) including the T2 adapter, you have about another 55mm leeway which means you need 55mm worth of spacers between the camera body and the FR to come into focus.

In the future, when you wish to incorporate the crayford, then the crayford focuser should have a depth of 55mm.

@Tim:
I think I'll need your help to explain some jargon to me. I need to learn some best practices of a astrophotgrapher

@Airconvent:
I'll try that out cos I never thought of that.

@rcj:
I am already on that setup. Just that wanted to add a diagonal or maybe denk solutions such as the powerswitch and/or the filter switch.

Sorry, no. Don't want to hack my k-x. Its low noise enough for normal photography [smilie=cute.gif]
