So a total of 7 minutes of images of the entire Orion complex, using a 50mm SMC Pentax-M lens which I bought for $20. It was stopped down to f/4.
I just processed the images now because DSS takes forever on DSLR images, which are quite large. To my great surprise, I can see NGC1977 (Running Man) and NGC2124 (Flame Nebula) in this image..

This was with the camera on the Vixen Polaris with an eyeball polar alignment.
I have to point out that the 50mm lens, even stopped down to f/4 has pretty severe coma once you get 1/3rd out from the center. Luckily, this Orion belt and sword crop was in the center of the image. The 6-pointed stars are due to the camera's iris diaphragm.
