hey all
any ideas on how i can get an ultra-cheap scope to use as a guider? (and not the home-made kind, I can build that and I don't want to)
Camera lenses are well and good but most don't reach focus with my Meade DSI.
I've looked at the Stellarvue F50 Little Rascal and the Borg 45ED and both would do admirably but I don't want to blow that kind of cash.
There are lots of department store telescopes but they are very very long, with the tiny Meade DSI sensor I'd be lucky to find any guide stars!
So basically I want something that can take a 1.25" eyepiece barrel so I don't need to frankenstein an adapter.

Yeah tell me about that %$#%#$! filter rack. What a PITA. And no shutter means dust galore on the sensor. That filter rack also increases the amount of back-focus required.
My only concern is that it's pretty hard to find those Borg adapters, right? I'd love to use my M42 lens collection for imaging..
