Hi Eddie. Welcome to Singastro! A few questions if you don't mind:
1. What are the details of the organisation/school that is organising this trip?
2. As a non-astrophotographer, can I (or anyone else) join this trip and bring along their telescopes as a participant/volunteer? If yes, roughly how much we have to pay for accomodation and transport? Of course, we will be sharing the views of our telescopes with all other participants.
Merry Xmas!!

Hi Gary, what a great surprise from you!
Yes, you and your friends are all welcome to our event @ Tioman Island!
Let’s answer your questions:
1. The event organiser – Palm Image Production (palmimage.com) is a small company who provide commercial photography services in Malaysia. Due to the passion in photography, we organise 2 to 3 photography trip per year for those students and beginners, to stimulate and share the experience in photography. Therefore, the fees we charged are basically affordable by the students;
2. Yes, as what mentioned above, you and your friends are all welcome to the event, the fees are reasonable says RM688 per each (ferry ticket, accommodation & F&B included). If you and your friends are willing to share your works and experience in astrophotography with the participants, we may provide you veryx2 special rate to join the events, and try to arrange transport for you all from JB to Mersing jetty and return.
It is very excited and hopes to hear from you soon!
Merry Christmas!

Hi Eddie. Thanks for the offer. RM688 sounds good!
Btw, you may be interested to get hold of a copy of the January 2011 edition of Astronomy (magazine). There is a wonderful 6-page article by world famous astrophotographer Michael Covington titled "Shoot the sky without a telescope" - capture great pictures using just a camera on a tripod.
