Venus Transit in SP

Post by Sam Lee »

Hi guys, just to echo an observation announcement being sent in the Singastro Yahoogroups:
----------------------
Hi Everyone,

On the 8th June 04-Venus Transit, SP Astronomers cordially invite those
interested to drop by at Singapore Polytechnic. We would be having it at the
sports stadium at 12noon.

If you are not familar with the route getting to the stadium, you may contact
micheal mattews at 97932316 or Shao Lu at 96996394 ( they are the chairpersons
for this event).

You guys are also welcome to bring along your personal astronomical equipments
(Take Note: any damage or loss incurred by the equipments is not the
responsibility of Singapore Polytechnic; SPASTRO).

Regards,
Geraldine
SP Astronomers

Perhaps a couple of western 'singastroians' :D would like to join in the fun. Do contact the ICs for more information.

Regards,
Sam

I took half day leave, so should be there but will have to "leech" on someone's scope since I don't have anything except my solar sunglasses to view the sun...:-)
Due to work commitments will probably reach there about 2pm.
cheers!

:D , spotted an article on my school website.

http://www.sp.edu.sg/estop/articles/200 ... svenus.htm

took them quite some time to get this online. The funny part is when they do, they make this very serious mistake of using "astrology" enthusiasts instead of "astronomy" enthusiasts!

SPOT ME IN THE PICTURE!

Sam
