Hi All.
I almost gave up on AP in Singapeore because of the very poor skies.
But after seeing quality samples posted, I'm ignited again!
So it really is possible to shoot more than the Moon, Jupitor, some points of light, and a smudge of m42.
How can I get more involved with Singastro?
Thanks again!
Thanks to All

Hi enewmen
Don't give up! The best part about AP in cloudy and unpredictable SG is trying!
And as you have seen yourself, it is possible. Matter of timing and tons of patience...lol! It's all in the planning.
How to get more involved? Well you've already started by joining us here. Keep your questions coming and keep reading. Join up with some Observation sessions (once this rain goes) and meet up and chat. Swap thoughts, ideas, gear and whatever else here and just get to know everyone more.
You live in Pasir Ris? I stay there too! Perhaps you could PM me details and we could hook up for some astro chat.
Till then,

yoyo, usually on fri if its a clear sky, a few groups will organise obs sometimes in eunos sometimes in ECP.
Keep a look out for outing threads cos sometimes it can be very last min.
Last fri we were supposed to have one but the weekend rain stopped all interest.
whenever it rains i will think of Titan haha Methane Rain lol

The trick here seems to be to be taking subs all night long. Then you will get a few usable shots when the clouds briefly open up.
Also use mono / narrowband to get past the LP.
If using full color, keep the shots under 5 mins and use lots of stacks to make up for the short exposure time.
(my guess)
What do people do when it starts raining on your heavy mount in the field?
I'm also involved in TASOS. They're good at what they do, but normally they meet in the Science Center - that's very far for me. Eunos/ECP sounds a lot closer.
I'll keep reading posts and look for observation sessions.
