Are these horizontal bright bands normal?

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Ahem.... haven't gone down. I figured instead of CNY eve I might as well keep my cam for the CNY since its still good for taking party shots. I'll be heading down tomorrow so we'll see how things turn out :)

Nikon is starting to use Sony's sensors.. so that could also be one of the issue. Anyway I've always been a Canon user, from 350D > 50D > 7D. If moving over to Canon, the 5D2 would be great as it has one of the best sensor around. (:

We all know that Canon's sensors have always outperformed Nikon's in terms of noise. But Nikon is preferred for most wedding photographers because of it's consistency throughout all the shots, especially color. Nikon's lenses are also much more expensive.

Actually I think AP is best done on stars, planets, moons and nebulae/galaxies.
Photography on Santa Barbara is well.....
