RCW 32 - another faint nebula in Vela

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

RCW 32 - another faint nebula in Vela

Post by rcj »

Hi all,

Had a bit of time to engage in a nearby capture of a compact faint nebula in Vela during these clear nights, and while the moon is around (only could capture HA stuff). RCW 32 (or Gum 15) is in the viscinity of the greater Vela SNR. I have actually taken this object before a couple of years back but under hazy conditions. Thought it would be worth re-taking again, albeit with a more HA-sensitive camera too. This is a 60min cumulative exposure in HA with the 5-incher. Still quite noisy, will do with more exposures if the subsequent nights allow.
