Astro bino

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Astro bino

Post by KKK26 »

Hi
I have 10x bino for many years and would like to own higher magnification as well as bigger objective lens bino to find out the differences. There are afew brands available in eBay or online stores. Celestron, Zhumell, Barska, Garrette, Orion & Oberwerk (20-140x80, 20x80, 25-100x80, 30x80, 25x100....) are within my budget. The rest vixen, tak, zeiss....beyong my budget.

Do any bro own these type of binos? How are their performance? Initially I intended to buy celestron 25-125x80 zoom bino but after reading some bad review regarding focus diffficulties when zoom to higher magnification, i confused and can not decide which one should I buy. Also, would like to know zoom or fixed magnification bino is suitable for both astronomical observation and long range territorial view.
Appriciate if some one can advise. [smilie=confused.gif]

Thanks!

Clifford's 25x100 has the same specs as Oberwerk's I think. There is a favourable review of Zhumell Tachyon 25x100 by Phil Harrington in the April 2011 issue of Astronomy.
