CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!
Sharing my last session on Saturday night thru Sunday. Sky cleared after the downpour but light mist in the sky remained. Dodging small patches of clouds and eventually to tired to go on. Need to take a new batch of Darks/Flats, so pardon the processing. But each step is always a learning curve. Clouds and my low floor don't help much in detail...grrrr. I so need to go mono.
Anyway hope you like them!

My wife never complained about how much time, effort & money I spent on my Astronomy hobby!................suddenly I met her!!!
Thanks Remus. I will admit that I'm not to happy with the shots nor the processing this time round..lol! As they say in Photography, if it isn't right from the start it's not right at all...haha!
But at least a primer for when the sky clears...hopefully soon.

"The importance of a telescope is not how big it is, how well made it is.
It is how many people, less fortunate than you, got to look through it."

Hi Cat! Yeah you could say that. Coming from a commercial photography past...the itch is always there to shoot! And Astrophotography is a whole new avenue for me really! With Astronomy an interest since secondary school days...the merger was obvious!
Most of the productivity comes from trying to find a middle where LP and nice images can come together..haha! Basically Low floor, street lights and cloudy skies...there's gotta be a loophole!
Also aiming to document as many clusters as I can. Just love those little twinkles grouped together. More keepsakes. As with any hobby the plain simple satisfaction of knowing it's possible keeps you going! Besides, with a fixed pier...why not?...lol!
