ok so I finally did a decent 2-star align last night (on Rigel and Capella, which aren't that far apart but I can't do an alignment across the meridian from my balcony).
since the CGEM can only go to 15 degrees, it was grossly misaligned.
GoTo's were spot on surprisingly (within the 0.680-degree field of a 32mm PL on my C9.25) given my rushed 2-star align. The bad news... objects drift out of the field really quickly due to the bad polar alignment.
so i am in need of that low-latitude wedge. i've come up with a design, but need someone to machine it.
i also thought of modding the Atlas pier instead (easier) but the Atlas pier is out of stock in all the US astro shops...
annoyed.. machining assistance for CGEM low-latitude wedge
