Photo taken on 10:15 pm, March 19th, 2011 @ Par Ris Park.
Orion Apex 127 Mak. 970mm FL, f/7.623
AstroTech Voyager Mount.
Canon 550D, RAW capture.
1/800 sec, ISO 200
10 frame stack
minor Photoshop processing.

Very nice! So many craters. I hope I can achieve something similar with my mak 127 someday. If you can resize the moon slightly smaller and/or add more black space around it, it may create a nicer moon hanging in deep space framing.

Btw, what brand and make of focal reducer did you use to capture this?

The reducer is a normal Celestron .63
It seems to work well by making things brighter and more flat. I always keep it on unless I want a long FL when I need very high magnification.

Whats there to Critisize??? Great shot on a 127 mak! Shows what some forethought can achieve!!

Love the colors and the detail! Awesome!!

wow, this is extremely well down. At least could see some brown, which is basically absent from most other lunar shots
