Thanks for the photos! I like photo 68, the one with the lady looking through the C14 with the Moon in the background. Nice composition!

Great event...thinking it would be great to pass out some promotional flyers for singastro so that those interested can tap into here for more events. I constantly get people in the other forums asking when is the next obs.. [smilie=cute.gif]

Here are some photos from my camera.

I load the photos to my computer and look at them for the first time and I was like OOOMMGGG! A quick check on my camera and indeed my worst fear was confirmed. Halfway through the event, I accidentally nudged the settings wheel while squeezing the camera in and out of my trouser pocket.

So I hope you don't get a headache looking at them now. These are already the so call better ones.

***********************************************************

Telescopes group shot. From left to right: Skwatcher Mak 127, Meade ETX 105, Celestron C14, Infinity Scopes UTI8, Galileoscope. Rlow's 11" Dobsonian not in photo as he came after this shot was taken. Apologies for forgetting to retake a group shot. :)

Image

***********************************************************

Mak127 - Sharp and contrasty for a 5" as always. Nice to meet the owner's friend. :P

Image

***********************************************************

ETX 105 - The only GO TO scope in the event. Nice grenade eyepiece. Beautiful airy disc during start testing later in the evening. The green laser finder is absolutely exquisite. Serves as finder telescope for all other scopes present. :)
Image

***********************************************************

Galileoscope. New Toa Payoh Sidewalker in the making who should come out of forum-lurking mode. :)
Image

***********************************************************

C14 - The Main Event. Even the setting up itself was a great source of entertainment for the crowd! Queue was already forming long before the scope was ready for viewing. :)
Image

***********************************************************

UTI8. Dobs never looked so sexy. Great DIY counterweight zipper pouch with screws inside. Sell me sell me !!!!! LOL :).

UTI8 dismantled and everything (scope and mount) fits into ONE suitcase:

Will blog about the whole event in the future during a cloudy night. :)

@James. No need bring back lar. Finding faint DSOs in sg skies is a waste of time. :) Just leave your upcoming ISTAR scope in Singapore can already. :P

@Clifford. Thanks for bringing the ETX. I have a new found appreciation for grab-n-go-go-to. :) Actually it is James who suggested the idea a week before. I was just trying to make use of the opportunity to psycho him to bring his C14 here to convince the uncles and aunties here that my scope is not really considered big. :)

I love the queue. While queuing, they have no where to run and forced to accept my "namecard". LOL. :P
