Instead of trying to portray yet another very commonly taken object in the sky, Omega Centauri was taken to carefully cover the core details. Interestingly, the core is so densely packed that stellar collisions actually happen in there, though not very often. But since most of the core stars are so old (12 billion years), collisions occur in the thousands. Some collisions are near-misses, and have resulted in "impromptu" close binary star systems.
