Hubble IMAX 2D gathering?

Post by Gary »

Omni Theatre is screening Hubble IMAX 2D now!

Hubble IMAX 2D

Screening period: 22 Apr 2011 to 31 Oct 2011

Please take note this is the 2D version and not the 3D version. Still worth watching in Singapore because of the big screen and sound system, especially the part when the "camera" zooms in and pan around the Orion Nebula.

Will be nice for stargazers to watch it with fellow stargazers and their families (especially the spouse :)) to let them understand our hobby better and that our telescopes are not really that expensive.

@shirox. Ya. I can still remember when I was a young student many moons ago and visited the omni theatre for the very first time as part of a school excursion (wow, didn't use this e word for a long time :)). When they dimmed the light, I saw the silhouette of the gi-normous speakers surrounding me. Then, they switch on the "Death Star" projection and I have forgotten where my dropped jaws landed. :)

A pity there wasn't any telescope deployed outside after the event on that day, else would have picked up the hobby much earlier.
