Buying a used EM500 from Astromart

Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Thanks to Remus and Timothy about not skimping on shipping. Will stay with shippers that have good track records.

Thanks to all for your precious feedback. It has helped in making decision to buy this mount. You have given me support and assurance that we can learn with and from one another.

Cheers

Alfred

interesting venture. I still need to visit you to set the pier up...bah distance from East to West!!!

I will also second Remu's thoughts on not skimping on shipping. If I was to invest in probably the ultimate mount for all my Astro needs, I would spend a mad amount on shipping to ensure all is safe and sound. I would also go with DHL/FEDEx and courier this over hand delivered. Yes it's extremely expensive....but it's not something that will last a year. It will go one for ever and take on alot of abuse and use. Yeah...I would go courier and just pay without a blink of an eye!!

While I'm not vouching for comgateway, erm, they actually use DHL to courier it over to your address :) The only "weak link" is the process from arriving at their facility to your item being picked up by the DHL service but that is covered by insurance up to USD10K.
Anyway just a suggestion :)
