Lunar eclipse is not like solar eclipse, it is naturally long over a few hours from first to last contact.. No point bothering about the length of totality. In fact, a longer totality means you're gonna sit around waiting longer to see the next contact.
I was at SSC yesternight. Rain came at 3+, halfway through Transformers 1 and halfway through the moon entering totality (okay you can guess how much attention I was paying to the moon since I reported Transformers first ). The event was well organised, only except a few kinks. My most (un)favourite kink was they paused Transformers 1 half an hour after airing to give a talk about the eclipse. Many people were quite pissed at the pause, so they didn't listen to the talk either. Wasted..
