Mersing Astro Expedition 01 July 11 to 03 July 11

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Elton: Here's the reprocessed version for M8-M20 region based on the unmodified Canon 500D. Albeit tougher to pull out the reds on this, but it is there! Tried to make it as "pleasant-looking" as possible....

Image

Kelvin: Have tried processing the Cat's Paw and W&P nebulae. Seems ok to me. Think the red channel was overwhelmed with a cast perhaps during data capture (haze, thin cloud, etc), but it looks fine to me now... have given it a more fiery look but let me know if it is too much! lolx

Was taken with the FSQ?

DeepSkyStacker is so convenient!

Nicely done Remus! Once again, a good show of your image processing prowess! will provide me a good reference to reprocess them again. [smilie=info.gif]

Yes both images were taken with FSQ85 with 0.73x Reducer, operating at f/3.8.

Yup! Couldn't agree more, this modified 350D really kick ass! All the time spent in modding it really pays off....lol.

Hey Remus
Those are awesome. Thought of doing a high resolution mosaic for a family photo of the Sagittarius family? [smilie=cool.gif]
