Here is the place to talk about all those equipment(Telescope, Mounts, Eyepieces, etc...) you have. Not sure which scope/eyepiece is best for you? Trash it out here!

Takahashi Sky 90 on Losmandy G-8

Post by JY »

Hi,

The title says it all : that's what I am interested for wide field astrophotography.

Anyone has a G-8 here in Singapore ?
How does it handle the low latitude ?

Thanks and clear skies

Fellow member Wira has one. I think you need to get the Losmandy mini pier for it if you want to use it for astrophotography in our regional latitudes.

Half-pier is required, it is totally hollow and quite light but very solid. GM-8 can go down to 0 deg lat. The tripod leg extends out from under the counterweight bar like the GP mount so it is stable even at 0 deg lat. With a Sky-90, it will be very solid. Btw, Wira is mounting a Mewlon 210 on it for visual.
