Guys,
Any one ever tried observation in one of SG offshore islands, such as St John's?

I have observed overnight at Semakau twice. Obbed at Ubin overnight a dozen times about 25 years ago.
Remember that obbing on offshore islands require transporting your equipment by ferries, and there is a physical limit to how much & how heavy you can carrry to embark a ferry. You may not be able to transport by a trolley up a ramp, and may have to carry equipment from the jetty into the ferry. Hence I wouldn't bring a big dob that way.
Also most offshore islands are still affected by the huge light dome from Singapore, so more than half the sky is still light polluted. Lights from nearby ships also may affect us directly.
Hence many of us prefer to drive to darker skies in Malaysia.
