Reprocess Old Images from Punggai with Nebulosity

Post by cataclysm »

Hi all, just want to share some reprocessed images taken from last year at Punggai. In fact these are the only successful images from the stints at Punggai so far. I knew that night was special, after survived the drive through a heavy rainstorm en route, it paved a way for a really clear night.
These are really good data, just that i was not extracting all the subtlety from the earlier processing. I had it another go at it agian, this time Nebulosity, I was able to extract more details with better colour balance.

M8 & M20: Taken with Losmandy GM8, Tak FSQ85, Modified 350D with cooling, 8x8min @ ISO800.

M4 & Antares Region: Again taken with Losmandy GM8, Tak FSQ85, Modified 350D with cooling, 13x8min @ISO 800

Beautiful! I like the framing of M4 in the 2nd photo.

Great photo Kelvin!
Hadn't realised that there is actually a smaller globular (NGC6144) between Antares and M4. I guess it must be very dim as I don't remember seeing anything there on my scope previously.
