Alright, this is for sharing of your observation experience. Or, if you are arranging gatherings, star-gazing expeditions or just want some company to go observing together, you can shout it out here.
James, Gary and I made the trip to Punggai after PE 2011. I arrived after midnight on 29 Aug 11. Condition was generally fair on 29 Aug 11. There were windows of good seeing conditions. Jupiter looked astounding with a WO 4mm eyepiece (x155 magnification). Next, I tried imaging imaging Jupiter with the WO Megrez 90 bought from Kochu.
This above images were taken with the WO Megrez 90 mounted on an iEQ45 GEM with a B/W DMK 41AU02.AS camera. At about 3AM the seeing condition was very good. The seeing condition deteriorated during the imaging session compared to the visual observation session. DMK 41AU02.AS was set to 15 Frames per second. Gain- 132, Aperture - 1/240 Gamma – 112. Video recording sessions were about 1min 45sec long. During post processing with Registax 6, only frames better than 90% quality (274 frames) were stacked. Wavelet processing was performed on Level 1 and 6 with 20 and 30 selected respectively. This image was taken before the appearance of the GRS.
The above seems to be no good. Here is another link to yahoo groups.
Hi yltansg
To attach the photo, you need to copy the link to the jpg and not the dynamic link. I have amended your post for you.
Good effort, BTW. I think I can make out the GRS too!
