Hi long time never post,was wondering is there any outing to malaysia during the hari raya haji long weekend hoilday during nov. Me and my friend are interested to go.
Hi Gary. That weekend is a few days after first quarter moon. May not be the most ideal weekend for stargazing (compared to a new moon night). Having said that, if the site is clear and dark on that weekend, after the Moon sets, there may still be a few good observing hours left before sunrise. Also, november is a bit near to the year end monsoon period.
The deepavali holiday on 26 october looks interesting as it is a new moon day. If you guys can afford to take leave 2 days before or after 26, then that super duper long weekend might have a good chance of catching at least one clear night with Moon mostly out of the way.
Else, can also consider Carole's damai resort trip on 28 - 30 oct.
