Re: Stargazing @ Kulai Rotary Club Observatory -- 5/6 Nov 20
Came back from the Kulai today. Very glad that I went for this trip!
We managed to see craters of the Moon and bands of Jupiter through our scopes. May not seem to be an impressive feat on a normal summer night but considering the weather for the past few days, a true miracle!
The feast before the observation was super delicious. Duck meat never tasted so good and non oily. The crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth tofu is just mind-bending. I can eat them every single day for the rest of life.
After the event was over, we went for supper and a chit chat session and a hilarious failed attempt at trying to catch a midnight movie at the newly opened cinema. We manage to find a potential ob spot that is very dark but near to the hotel (hint: tom yum super mini nuggets
). Hanging out with 20-year-olds definitely made me feel even younger.
The hotel facilities are spanking new and comfy. Free wifi and internet stations. It is like going to a house-warming party of a newly renovated house.
Special thanks to the Rotary Clubs members for hosting us and the event. We get to know more about the good work you guys have done and will be doing. All the best for your future endeavours!
@Carole: Thanks for arranging for this trip! Really had a great time myself and I believe the rest who came along. Help us to thank Tom too for his hospitality. Hope you and the other 2 beautiful ladies enjoy the short train trip. Now we know who to approach to buy train tickets really last minute.
@Michael: Thanks for driving us around and back! Wonderful car and driving skills is all I can say! LOL. Kulai is definitely a place worth exploring more. Bring on the Eclipse!
