Heyas all!
Finally decided to post after signing up and lurking for ages.
I've been interested in astronomy since I was a kid (6? 7?) but honestly, trying to read up and understand everything by myself is really hard. I joined the astronomy club in Serangoon JC when I was studying there years ago, but things were a bit haphazard and I didn't learn much there, unfortunately.
I'm horrible at identifying constellations and stars (even with a star map, go figure...lol), and have been thinking of investing in a scope (only my dad thinks that with me having a scope in my room in an HDB, people will think I'm peeping at them).
It's great to meet you all, and I really hope to join in one of the upcoming obs session soon.
Cheers,
Sky

Welcome!
Don't worry about constellations and such. Join a few obs sessions and you'll be able to.see them
A helpful program to get is Stellarium. It's freeware
Again, don't worry about the telescope yet. Join a few obs sessions and you'll have a feel of what you'd like and also, what.you can handle, physically

Hee hee. Thanks, cloud_cover!
I'm having a date with my partner at the Science Center this coming Friday as I wait for obs session here to start.
It's so exciting.
