Hi
I have a Celestron battery pack which died on me. So I changed the battery inside the pack by myself.
I must have inadvertently adjusted some wire because now when I charge it, the charging light blinks on and off every few seconds. And the fully charged light never comes on. So I busted the new battery within a few months.
I'm not an electronics savvy person, so does anyone know where I can get it repaired?

Re: Battery pack
@Athlon. You may check with astrobargains. Depending on the level of "damage", it may not be worth repairing and you may find buying a brand new one makes more sense value wise.
Btw, sent you a PM a few days ago and it is still in my outbox. Your inbox is full is it?

Re: Battery pack
Ask Joo Beng for help. If you.don't need the specific power points in the celestron battery, just buy a new set from him. He does it.almost at cost and he'll make the appropriate cable for you

Sorry but could I clarify what you mean by if I don't need specific power points?
Also, the second part about the cable? I don't really get what you mean. As in, I have the required cables that came with the power tank. So why would I need any other cable?
I wanna try and get it fixed first before buying a new one. $180 is pretty steep for that power tank.

Re: Battery pack
He will re solder the connectors for battery to your item but of course its more convenient to use the powertank's plugs.
You don't need to buy the powertank per se though. It's just a glorified battery in a molded plastic.case with torchlight.
If you have just one or two items, just order one of his batteries plus charger. It's almost the same cost as going to Sim Lim tower yourself.

If you can't reach Joo Beng, you can try Astro Scientific at the Science Centre too. They are the authorised dealer for Celestron and sell new units if you want to buy a new one but check the prices before you do so.
