M45 Pleiades (7 Sisters)

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

My kampung is about an hour's drive from JB. Not that far from Singapore compared to Punggai or Desaru. My grandma has a house here and we visit it from time to time, since my grandma is from Singapore herself. Most of the time, the house is vacant but completely furnished (sofas, a master bed, plenty of foam mattresses,tv, fridge, stovetop and even a washing machine). [smilie=admire.gif]

The house dimension is roughly about 30 feet x 90 feet. The driveway is about 100 feet of gravel from front to back & about 30 feet wide. More than enough room to setup a few mounts and scopes right? The back of the house is palm plantation. Neighbors are all of our family's relatives there.

The Megrez 90's weight is quite substantial, yes, but GP2 still manages. The setup I used was totally unguided coz if any more additional weight would cause it to have small drifts. This setup is pretty much maxed up in terms of weight limit from my experience.

Gary:
Thanks Gary for the clarification. Didn't know there was 2 Rengit in Malaysia myself.

Here is the rough coordinate from Google Map. Will update exact coordinate from my GPS if there are a few parties interested in organizing a visit.
1.730920, 103.171286

And I would like to take this opportunity to thank Singastroians for the chance to own my setup from fellow members here. I wouldn't be imaging this year (and some last year) if it wasn't for this group. [smilie=admire2.gif]

Hi Redzuan. Sounds very familiar! Hahaha.

Thanks for the information and offer. Appreciate it. Your recent M42 photo taken at Sri Damansara is beautiful!

It will be great if you can start a new thread and share all of the nice observation sites in Malaysia that you have visited so far. :)
