Jurong Jelly Fish

Another job in hand...

IC 443 Jelly Fish Nebula in Gemini- Ha version.

Since ED 120 couldnot get the tentacles of jelly fish , it looks more like Broccoli :mryellow:

Thanks for sharing Kochu. Another nice capture.
Why are there halos around some of the stars within the nebula? :)

i think i know what causes those haloes... seen it on my own subs.

if you have subs of different exposure length, the longer exposures will have bigger stars (more blooming). somehow when this is stacked with the same star but less blooming, you get a halo.

Hi Rich ,

Thanks for pointing out.

I think it is due to an "Over dose" of de-convolution. I should change the parameters and number of iterations while processing the final tri-colour version.

Yes this is a large object, but very faint, framing this target is a real challenge especially on small chips. Also took this 2 weeks ago with less than satisfactory result. My rudimentary camera is not up to this task, max exposure is 10min b4 the ampglow becomes a hindrance. Apparently under sampled on this object with H-alpha.

Imaged with: Tak FSQ85 and Modified Meade DSI III Pro. 5x10min.

Hi Kelvin,
Proving to be very difficult object,. 6 x 20 minutes through O3 filter does not contribute any significant data. Probably should try from Sedili or Mersing.
