CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Image taken with Solarscope SF50 on a Borg 76 achromat. Notice the prominences near the 11 to 12 O'clock position

I recorded 14 short videos, each of about 40 frames with interval of 40 second pause. These were stacked using Registax and processed in Photoshop and aligned with DVS. Right-click on the video and turn looping on to enjoy the animated gif on the prominences :)

Amaaaazing! Thanks for sharing. Despite your busy schedule, you can still manage your time well to do such imaging. Respect.

Thanks to all for your comments and encouragement. I have been imaging the Sun for the last year. There are so much to learn about what's going on in the Sun and imaging techniques/post-processing. I have accumulated tonnes of video footages on harddisks. Have shared the footages and imaging/PP techniques with anyone who is interested to learn more about the Sun. In the days ahead, I hope to do more animation (and longer) of sunspot, prominences and even the granulations. Hopefully there will be an astronomy event for the Venus Transit on 6 Jun 2012. I would share some of my works and setup my scope for people to view the event :)
