For those who may not be aware, Astronomics has purchased Cloudy
Nights from Alister St Clair. I guess Astronomics feels a need to
compete with Anacortes, who owns Astromart, plus Alister was getting
burned out by the time taken to maintain the site. Mike at
Astronomics says there will be few, if any changes (at least
immediately). The biggest change will be that the Cloudy Nights
Reports, which previously required a subscription, will now be free.

I think we all owe Alister St Clair a hearty thanks for all he's done
for our hobby in creating and maintaining this valuable resource to
our hobby.

I never see the logic of the need to express so much gratitude to this guy. He took all the hardwork reviews given to him by amateurs, promising them that it was never for profit, then now he sold it off with a huge chunck of profit in his pocket with reviews that was never from him in the first place.

It's not like he has given the site away for free.
