Hi
I just got the 6" classical cassegrain that was put up for sale here. However, I would like to ask if anyone has an artificial star I can borrow to try to collimate the optics. Better still, any help with it would be greatly appreciated!!!
The classical cassegrain is a bit trickier To collimate than the normal sct's as both primary and secondary mirrors need to be adjusted.
So far, I did some basic eyeball-ing of the optics and seem to get concentric patterns when looking at a star but somehow the view still has a fine "haze" over everything... I also don't think I'm so good and lucky to hit collimation on the optics so easily on the first try.
