CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

Tonight's Moon (04-05 May 2012)

Post by Sivakis »

Had to fight with cloudy night to find a patch of clear sky.

Anyway, window was short, so just a few pics taken. Canon 500D / EFS55-250

Image is photoshopped for contrast and sharpening:

Think I went overboard with the editing?

Yeah, my wife and I are planning to head down to East Coast tonight for some seafood dinner and spend an hour or two shooting the perigee moon as it rises off the east ~ 8pm (as observed on Stellarium). Hope the sky clears a bit cos NEA says its gonna be cloudy (but this is NEA, so.....).

Last night the whole sky was bright red in the East @ 1pm, luckily I had that window ~ 9.30pm to get the a few clear shots before clouds came rolling in.

Thanks to wife again who spotted the moon in a clear patch of sky.

Fast hands fast legs setup my camera to take these few shots. Enjoy :)

Still not fully uncovered, wonder if tomorrow night's moon will be completely full?
