Messier 13 or M13 (also designated NGC 6205 and sometimes called the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules

or the Hercules Globular Cluster) is a globular cluster of about 300,000 stars in the constellation of

Hercules.
Nearby is NGC 6207, a 12th magnitude edge-on galaxy that lies 28 arc minutes directly north east. A

small galaxy, IC 4617, lies halfway between NGC 6207 and M13, north-northeast of the large globular

cluster's center.

M13 is about 145 light-years in diameter, and it is composed of several hundred thousand stars, the

brightest of which is the variable star V11 with an apparent magnitude of 11.95. M13 is 25,100 light-

years away from Earth. The galaxies are much far behind.

Nice new scope...hopefully it does not being the clouds, Kochu.
Been a while since I last saw M13 in Hercules. Nice bonus for you to have captured extra galaxies too.
Do share some photos and your opinions on your new acquisition. :)

Hi Kelvin,

Listed price in China is 8990 RMB,and for foreign order is USD 1750, plus airfrt charges will be about 200 USD, say total abt USD 2000 before GST.

The scope is also sold by Kokusai , Japan for 188,000 .J. Yen , but they give free Reducer and flattener for limited promotion period.

Astrotech sells it for about 1999 USD.

looks pretty flat to me kevin.. but i do know even triplets need a flattener.

the QSI 583 has an 8300 chip though (1/2 the size of APS-C, 1/4 the size of FX) so that might have something to do with it too..
