M8 imaging tryout

CCD vs Film? Lots of time vs no patience? Alright, this is your place to discuss all the astrophotography what's and what's not. You can discuss about techniques, accessories, cameras, whatever....just make sure you also post some nice photos here too!

M8 imaging tryout

Post by cknjj »

Hi all,

posting my first lousy standard M8 captured last night with
my buddy - Jeremy aka Astrosiao.

Was rather cloudy but still manage to get some shots.

Image is noisy, as I've not tryout any stacking. Only play around
on PS (CS 6) some adjustment to the images. Not a good pic, but
heck.....Im still proud to get it. But do feel free to comment, your
comment may just help me improve. Thank you.

attached image captured with following equipment

SV102ED on Vixen SXP mount
Orion SkyGlow Broad Band filter
Canon 40D (unmodded)
30 seconds exp. ISO - H

Brother, you want nice photos, must be disciplined liao.

Drift alignment, must be done!

Always so Kan Cheong to align goto and start imaging...cannot lah.

Still, we had fun right?

I can still hear the burst of "woohoo" and jumping to his feet when he got the first shot.

Hehehehehe...
