Umm...I noticed that for most threads, out of all the people who read the postings, only 10% of the people will reply.
For example if a posting has 200 views, you at most have 20 or lesser replies....
Only 10% of the people here are active?

I am guilty too.
problem is that the sky's not encouraging interest, at least for me. AFAIK, the sky for the past half year was rotten in my part of the sky. Yes, 7 July was clear at 11am. But I was jogging..so missed it.
When clear skies returns, I am sure interest can be rekindled.

This forum is quite new, about a year old. Haven't matured yet. After some time you have all the vocal people coming, people who talk more than do observing. Then your postings will increase in the coffee corner.
And yea, for mature forums, ie those with lots of members, their equivalent of coffee corner is likely to have the higest postings.

Hi,
I'm probably considered one of those "lurkers" 'cause i usually don't post much but i do come back a few times daily to read new posts. One of the reasons why i don't post is that... well... I have nothing to post!!! The thing is that what can i post with my mediocre puny little knowledge on observations. I'm more of astro theory...

Maybe you want to try contributing some articles for the Astronomy FAQs sections. Some useful articles on the theory side of Astronomy will benefit the community, especially ME!
Some ideas to get it started:
1. 1st few seconds of the Big Bang
2. Birth and Death of Stars
3. Some other ideas on birth of universe, eg. Steady State/Plasma Theory
4. History of Astronomy ! (I don't mind!)
Regards,
Sam
