BTW, I am not related to the dealer.
hi Anat,
I thought you chose the thai flag for fun but seems you REALLY are a Thai!
:D Welcome to singastro!
The prices quoted are really cheap....from Thailand by land mail, I think the shipping would be very low. Are the optics bought from overseas or made locally too?

The mirror is made in China according to the specification. So the scope is actually a hybrid :) I don't have one but I was impressed when seeing through my friend's scope. And the base is nicely built from rubber-tree wood. Singapore and Thailand are very close. I hope to join one of your activities if I have a meeting there. BTW, the link to our community is darasart.com

If I remember reading the website correctly, it uses a F/5 spherical (vs paraboloid) mirror. You may want to reconsider the purchase. The spherical aberration will be quite bad at F/5

Wow thanks for the warning. Overlooked that.. :) Perhaps I will contact them to see if they have one for demo before I pop over. The price is just irresistable... 8)

The shop is in Bangkok. I can borrow one from my friend to star-test with you when you come to Bangkok. :) I will need to learn from you how to star-test. A few friends have homemade 12.5" and 16" truss dobs. I hope you can see them. Good time for stargazing in Bangkok is from November to April. It is cloudy at this moment. So, check the weather forecast before you come and PM me.:)
